Research in the Department of Medical Education

The Department of Medical Education (DME) held its inaugural Research Forum on 25 October.

Titled 'Research matters in the DME: Enhancing engagement quality and impact', the forum aimed to engage the broader DME community in current research and to identify research goals and strategies to guide activities for 2017-2019.

The day was highly interactive with brief presentations to highlight the scope and collaborations of current DME research and table discussions throughout the session. Professor Joanna Bates from the Center for Health Education Scholarship at the University of British Columbia brought an international perspective and insight into the discussions around research goals and strategy setting.

The forum provided an opportunity to consider current and future research activities of the DME in the broader context of the Melbourne Medical School and the university’s research goals of excellence and impact.
