Congratulations to Erin Crellin, the 2017-18 recipient of the Helen R Freeman Scholarship (Master of Biomedical Science), awarded for academic merit. This prestigious scholarship supports two years of Erin’s Master of Biomedical Science in Department of Paediatrics.

Erin’s research project is part of the Australian Genome Health Alliance with the Genetics Education and Health Research Group, led by Professor Sylvia Metcalfe and A/Prof Clara Gaff; is focused on determining the educational and training needs of non-genetic health professionals who may contribute to the future genomics workforce.

The Helen R Freeman Scholarships were established in 2012 through a gift made by Ms Freeman BA(Melb), BEd(Melb, via the University’s USA Foundation. Ms Freeman’s generous gift provides five scholarships pledged over five years for female students (with Australian citizenship) with the highest rank, commencing in the Master of Biomedical Science and the Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics).
