Family Violence Index Victoria

Project Details

The Victorian Government (Department of Premier and Cabinet) is funding the development of a Family Violence Index to better understand the problem of family violence within Victoria and measure impacts of future policies, system improvements and interventions in prevention and response.

The project is a collaborative partnership between the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS) and the University of Melbourne (UoM).

The project involves: scoping review of family violence indices in Australia and globally; extensive expert stakeholder consultation, ongoing government consultation and index conceptual and practical development.

The project is due to complete mid-2016.
