The glycaemic effects of the administration of antenatal glucocorticoids in pregnant women with and without diabetes

Project Details
Antenatal glucocorticoids, helpful for fetal lung maturation, are associated with hyperglycaemia which has been associated with poor maternal and neonatal outcomes. This study aims to use continuous glucose monitoring to determine the maternal glycaemic impact of antenatal glucocorticoids and the association of hyperglycaemia with adverse perinatal outcomes, including neonatal hypoglycaemia, in women with and without diabetes. This project is a sub-study of the MRFF and NHMRC funded multi-centre international randomised control trials C*STEROID and PRECeDe.
