We are a large and successful department within the Melbourne Medical School of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences with an established worldwide reputation for excellence in child and adolescent health. We are committed to improving clinical care and health outcomes for children and adolescents via our extensive education, research and engagement activities.
The Department, in collaboration and partnership with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) and the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH), undertakes world leading research which incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach to research into child and adolescent health. Our aim is to perform ground breaking translational and patient-orientated research across the breadth of paediatric disciplines. The research of the Department primarily falls under the broad umbrella of the Custodian of Research for the campus, MCRI. This unique arrangement maximises the facilities and resources available to support our extensive research programs and fosters the development of a breadth and depth of collaborative research across the broad spectrum of paediatric research.
