International Visitors

Frances Mair is Professor of Primary Care Research and Head of General Practice and Primary Care, within the Institute of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow.  She leads an extensive research programme that promotes a move to person centred care, promoting the concept of “Minimally Disruptive Medicine (MDM)” which has gained traction internationally.    

Prof Mair recently visited Melbourne to attend the Australian Disease Management Association (ADMA) National Conference and during that time, also met with Executive members of the Department and delivered a Special Seminar: Digital Health Implementation - Bridging the Translational Gap


Dr Markus Haun, MD and Physician Scientist Postdoctoral Research Fellow from Heidelberg University Hospital Germany, was recently welcomed to the Department where he will be hosted by Prof Jane Gunn and the Mental Health Research team until late December 2016.

His recently funded PROVIDE Study is a large-scale trial aiming to improve the provision of psychosocial health care in the primary care setting for what is an increasing number of underserved patients experiencing depression and anxiety.

Dr Haun will give a seminar on Wednesday 30th November1:00-2:00pm at the Department of General Practice, 200 Berkeley Street Carlton in G79 Seminar Room. All welcome.
