GP Super Saturday

The Teaching and Learning Team at the Department of General Practice held its annual GP Training Day event with the attendance of over 65 GP Supervisors.


The Department of General Practice GP Supervisor Training day was held on Saturday 4th February with over 65 GP supervisors attending. A/Prof Lena Sanci, Director of Teaching and Learning, introduced the keynote speaker Prof Karin Thursky from the Mental Health Research and Doherty Centre Research Group who delivered an engaging presentation on the topic of improving approaches to antibiotic prescribing. The Head of the Department of General Practice Prof Jane Gunn also spoke about the Department’s research in Depression.
After the morning presentations, workshops were conducted by Dr Jo-Anne Manski-Nankervis, Dr Caroline Johnson and A/Prof Helen Malcolm on topics related to teaching students undertaking general practice placements as part of the MD program.
