Global Council on Brain Health: Physical Activity Recommendations

The Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH) had its first meeting of issue specialists in Vancouver (Canada) in April 2016, to examine the impact of physical activity on brain health and discuss how to disseminate these findings to the wider community.

The GCBH an independent collaborative of academics, doctors and policy experts which aims to provide the best thinking on what people and professionals can to to maintain and improve brain health. At the April 2016 meeting, GCBH issue specialists, including AUPOA Unit Director Prof. Nicola Lautenschlager, agreed on five key statements to summarise the impact of physical activity on brain health. These statements are currently being drafted into consumer-oriented recommendations which are expected to be distributed later this year.
