Centre for Research Excellence in Cognitive Health Canberra Launch

A new national centre to research cognitive health, to be based at the Australian National University (ANU) with a second leading site at the AUPOA (The University of Melbourne), was launched on the 15th of June 2016 by ANU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian P. Schmidt.

Over 100 people attended the launch at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. Speakers at the event included; Director of the new CRE, Professor Kaarin Anstey, and three Chief Investigators, including AUPOA Director Professor Nicola Lautenschlager.

Each speaker focused on three of the fields of research which are part of the multidisciplinary approach to maintaining cognitive health, including: brain health, physical activity, and the environment. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion moderated by ABC Radio's Adam Shirley, during which researchers fielded questions from launch attendees.
