2024 MD Student Conference
This year’s MD Student Conference was another great success! Marking the 14th iteration, the entirely student-led conference brought together nearly 1,400 Melbourne Medical School students to experience a week of engaging workshops, activities and special events.
As the largest student-run conference in the Southern Hemisphere, the MD Student Conference boasted a diverse program, exploring four themes:
- Medicine: Past, Present and Future
- The Practice of Medicine: For the Doctor or the Patient
- The Road Less Travelled
- Medicine in the Anthropocene.
Students had the unique opportunity to engage in specialty academic sessions and meet speakers from across Australia to learn about topics not traditionally taught within the medical curriculum. Furthermore, every student had the opportunity to attend a diverse program of workshops ranging from basic suturing skills to ACL reconstruction.
The wellness program continues to fortify the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the next generation of doctors.
