Discover: Virtual Reality in Medicine and the Biomedical Sciences
181 Grattan Street, Parkville,
W313, level 3 West (SBS Digital Learning Hub)
Experience first-hand the future of education in Australia's largest room-scale VR teaching space.
The Virtual Reality learning Studio (VRLS) is part of the School of Biomedical Sciences Digital Learning Hub. The VRLS endeavours to enhance student learning through immersive VR experiences in the Biomedical Sciences and beyond.
Through the use of existing programs such as Richie’s Plank Experience, which places the user high atop a 90 storey building with nothing but a plank to walk out on, a recreation of the Tomb of Nefertari now inaccessible to the public in the real world, detailed anatomical representations of the human body and many more, students are able to engage with activities otherwise impossible without VR. The VRLS is also developing its own programs including the Virtual Human Heart and Virtual Knee Exam to further student studies in Medicine and the Biomedical Sciences.
We hope you can join us to experience this amazing technology for yourselves and witness the future of education.
