Rationale for research
Working with KPMG, we are consulting on a program of work to support the redevelopment of the Victorian Family Violence Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework, often referred to as the common risk assessment framework (CRAF).
The Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Department of Justice and Regulation (DJR) (including Courts and Corrections), Victoria Police and Department of Education and Training (DET) has funded this work with the aim of facilitating more effective identification, assessment and management of family violence related risks and needs. This work is in response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence in Victoria.
This project includes reviewing existing risk assessment and management, multi‐agency risk assessment and management operational practice development, and whole‐of‐system embedding of the revised framework. This is using a multi-agency and whole of workforce approach.
