2023 MMS Publication Prizes

About the Prizes

The Melbourne Medical School (MMS) Publication Prizes aim to recognise and reward high quality research produced by Early Career Academic (ECA) and graduate research candidates, and their ability to effectively communicate the significance and impact of their work to a diverse audience.

A cash prize of $1500 will be available in each of the following categories:

  • Graduate Researcher (Clinician Researcher)
  • Graduate Researcher (Discovery Researcher)
  • Early Career Academic (Clinician Researcher)
  • Early Career Academic (Discovery Researcher)

Applicants are required to provide a lay summary of the significance and impact of research  which was published in 2022 or 2023.

Prize recipients will be invited to present their featured research in a 5 minute talk at the annual MMS Research Symposium which will be held on Wednesday 15 November from 10am to 1pm.

See information below to apply. Application forms and prizes for graduate researchers and ECAs differ so please ensure you are submitting the right form.

Applications for the 2023 round will open on Tuesday 8 August 2023.

Applications will close at 11:59pm on Monday 11 September 2023 (deadline extended due to discrepancy of dates on application form). Finalists will be notified by mid October.
