ACADI Seminar Series, Apr 21: A new model of specialist outpatient diabetes care using digital health

On Friday 21st April, 2-3pm, we have the privilege of hearing from Dr Anish Menon, a lead researcher on an ACADI-funded project, and Professor Anthony Russell, on moving towards a new model of specialist outpatient diabetes care using digital health.

The Speakers

Dr Anish Menon, MBBS PhD FRACP

Anish is a specialist endocrinologist at the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology, Princess Alexandra Hospital. Anish is also an early career researcher with the Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC), Centre for Health Services Research at the University of Queensland (UQ).

Anish is interested in digital health solutions to redesign existing diabetes care models to better clinical outcomes, improve the patient experience and improve healthcare efficiencies.

Professor Anthony Russell, MBBS PhD FRACP

Tony has been Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne since Jan 2022, after moving from the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, where he was Director of Diabetes and Endocrinology for 16 years. Tony is also Professor of Medicine with the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University.

Tony’s research interests are around models of care for management of diabetes; in particular integrated care with general practice and use of technology to support these models of care.

Tony is currently President of the Australian Diabetes Society.
