Madeleine’s TEDx talk

A PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, Madeleine Lim, shares her experience of talking about sex and periods with her conservative Asian family, and urges us to adjust our attitude towards sex for better sexual health outcomes.

What if we can talk about our sexual health as openly as we do about other aspect of our health? What if we can talk about sex and periods realistically without shame and embarrassment?

Madeleine shared her ideas on talking more candidly about sexual and reproductive health on the TEDx stage, at the TEDxUnimelb Conference, on 14th September 2019. In her talk, she shared a light-hearted anecdote about period talks at the dinner table with her conservative Malaysian Chinese family. She hopes to inspire more conversation about sexual health.
