PhD Opportunity – Cardiologist or G.P.
The Future Health Today Program is offering a PhD scholarship for an exceptional and talented candidate who is interested in undertaking a PhD project in the field of cardiology and/or general practice within the Future Health Today (FHT) program. A partnership between the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne and Western Health, the FHT program focusses on optimising the detection and management of chronic disease in general practice, facilitating evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes through the use of technology.
Merlie Ivy Merchant Medical Research Scholarship
Location: University of Melbourne, Parkville
Duration: 3 years full-time
Scholarship: $30, 000 per annum full time rate, tax-free stipend

If you are medical doctor specialising in cardiology or general practice, have an interest in implementation science or quality improvement and are interested in pursuing a career in research this may be the opportunity you have been looking for. Whilst the final project will be negotiated with the successful applicant, it is anticipated that this project will involve both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. It will include the development and implementation of a cardiovascular disease quality improvement platform as part of the larger Future Health Today program.
Candidate requirements
Successful applicants will have an excellent academic track record in general practice, cardiology, implementation science or health services research, with experience in the Australian context.
