Seeking collaborative and innovative GPs working with ME/CFS and Long COVID patients, to form a long-term clinician / research partnership
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Long COVID are complex, multi-system diseases with many symptoms that may change over time and differ from patient to patient. The cause of these diseases is currently unknown but a combination of genetic and environmental factors appears to be relevant. There are no specific diagnostic tests or TGA-approved treatments available.
We invite general practitioners and their practice staff, ideally within the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network, to join us in collaboratively co-designing the research approach.
We are interested in:
- Learning what clinicians would like to monitor in their patients
- Learning whether clinicians prefer to monitor a treatment or the disease progression generally
- Receiving feedback on questions asked in surveys provided as well as interpretation of information
- Receiving de-identified health data about patients with these diseases.

Clinicians will be reimbursed for their time, up to two hours per week and will be acknowledged in research publications.
Ethics approval pending clinician recruitment and project co-design.
