SUSTAIN Project

The Sustainability of Identification and Response to Family Violence in antenatal care (SUSTAIN Project) is now underway.

The aim of this study is to develop sustainable ways to identify and respond to women experiencing domestic violence, particularly in regional and rural settings with low resources. Using a case study approach involving surveys with patients, and focus groups and/or interviews with staff, and audits of hospital readiness, we will provide recommendations for safe and effective evidenced-based screening for DV in pregnancy care. This is a multi-site study which will be conducted in six antenatal clinics– Royal Women's Hospital, Bendigo Health and Echuca Regional Health (Victoria) and Auburn, St George and Moruya hospitals in NSW.
