17th International Mental Health Conference – Gold Coast
10th-12th August, 2016

The conference highlighted the importance of primary care reform with Primary Health Networks having the key role of commissioning and integrating services to achieve patient-centred care models.

A/Prof Lena Sanci presented the Link Project, an online tool dedicated to assisting young people to find appropriate mental health care and information.

Society of Academic Primary Care Conference – Dublin Castle
6th – 8th July, 2016

CastleThe Department of General Practice was out in force at SAPC this year in Dublin. Profs Jane Gunn, Jon Emery and Meredith Temple-Smith together with Dr Jennifer Walker, Dr Susie Fletcher and Dr Sandra Davidson delivered eight papers, presented three posters, and chaired two paper sessions. In addition, our Honorary Professor and regular Departmental visitor, Professor Christopher Dowrick from the University of Liverpool, gave the Helen Lester Memorial Lecture.

Dr Jennifer Walker’s research on a novel colorectal cancer risk prediction tool was presented in the Distinguished Paper session. Her full presentation can be seen here.
