Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Nursing

Patients attending primary care services often have chronic and complex health needs. Nurses assisting patients to manage these conditions require advanced clinical and leadership skills.  A 2019, Cochrane systematic review identified multiple positive outcomes of master-level education for healthcare practitioners (1). Benefits identified included enhanced critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills, increased confidence, motivation and autonomy and advanced oral and written communication skills.  These skills and the many other benefits of graduate education can help you to develop your practice as a primary care practitioner.   The Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Nursing was developed for primary care nurses who want to advance their nursing education.  The certificate can be completed wholly online (depending on the elective chosen) and can be completed in as little as 6 months (full time).  For more information please contact Tracy Murphy email tracym@unimelb.edu.au
