PhD student Nicole Iturrieta Guaita presented at The International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infection (IUSTI) 2018 World and European Congress 2018 held on 27th-30th of June 2018 in Dublin, Ireland

PhD student Nicole Iturrieta Guaita with her supervisors Prof Meredith Temple-Smith and A/ Prof Jane Tomnay from the Centre of Excellence in Rural Sexual Health attended the IUSTI World + IUSTI Europe 2018 Congress at Trinity College in Dublin.

“The Appliance of Science” was the title of this congress that brought together the latest research and recommendations to improve our day-to-day clinical practice with patients, and to public health. The rise of syphilis and other STIs in the context of HIV Biomedical Interventions and the importance of Partner Services in STI control were some of the key congress presentations related to Nicole’s PhD study. Also, it was a great opportunity to meet researchers from over the world and gain a better understanding of their work in STI research.

While attending the Congress, Nicole successfully presented the e-poster: “Experiences from the field: Chilean healthcare providers’ perspectives on partner notification for syphilis.”
