Conference presentation: Managing risk in medical student placements at scale: Utilising a quality improvement cycle

This month, Jane Henty, Manager Teaching and Learning, presented at the Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) conference: ACEN Beyond 2022: Creating the Future with Work Integrated Learning (WIL). The paper was called ‘Managing risk in medical student placements at scale: Utilising a quality improvement cycle’ by Dr Caroline Johnson and Jane Henty. Jane described how the placement of medical students into a healthcare environment has an element of risk and outlined how the DGP has developed a comprehensive framework that safely provides work-integrated learning. The talk covered the key ingredients and systematic processes required for effectively managing different types of WIL risks.
