Dr Gemma McKibbin recently attended the NOTA (National Organisation for the Treatment of Abuse) conference in Glasgow where she presented a paper entitled: From opportunity to action: Preventing harmful sexual behaviour and child sexual exploitation. She then spent four days with Professor Simon Hackett, leading world expert in child sexual abuse prevention, at Durham University who had previously examined her PhD thesis. Gemma met with the CRIVA (Centre for Research into Violence and Abuse) team and explored the colleges that were the backdrop for some of the Harry Potter films! Overall, the trip was a great success and has led to Professor Simon Hackett agreeing to visit the University of Melbourne in 2019!
