Visiting scholar: Professor Kevin Eva
The Department of Medical Education is delighted to welcome back our Honorary, Professor Kevin Eva, who is visiting from Universeity of British Columbia in Canada between 1-10 May. Kevin is Associate Director and Senior Scientist in the Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES), and Professor and Director of Educational Research and Scholarship in the Department of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia. He is Editor-in-Chief for the journal Medical Education.
Kevin’s research interests span the career of health professionals including research into the development, maintenance, and assessment of competence and expertise, the selection of students for health professional training programs, clinical reasoning strategies, performance assessment, and the role of self-regulation in professional practice.
During this visit Kevin is teaching into the EXCITE Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters programs and meeting with staff and students. He’s also a keynote presenter at the Departmental Symposium on New Directions in Curriculum and Assessment in Medical Education, along with Professor John Prins, Head of the Melbourne Medical School, and Professor Wendy Hu, Associate Dean (Learning and Innovation), School of Medicine, Western Sydney University.
