Welcome to the Centre for Integrated Critical Care
The Centre for Integrated Critical Care brings together the three key disciplines that manage high risk and critically ill adults and children: anaesthesia; emergency medicine; and intensive care.
We strive to lead in policy and practice to improve the safety and quality of clinical care across the patient journey through internationally recognised, integrated academic research, education and engagement in the care of high risk and critically ill patients before, during and after their hospital stay.
“Integrating acute care to improve patient outcomes globally”
The Centre for Integrated Critical Care will improve the health and wellbeing of critically ill and high-risk patients by:
- integrating critical care practice, research and education
- providing evidence-based care for the acute patient from the beginning to the end of the patient journey
- leading critical care innovation and practice globally.
The leadership team of Professor Rinaldo Bellomo (Professor of Intensive Care), Professor David Story (Professor and Chair of Anaesthesia) and Professor George Braitberg (Professor of Emergency Medicine) oversee the three, integrated research streams, harnessing the expertise of a large network of critical care specialists undertaking clinical care, research and education at 15 University-affiliated hospitals.
