2021 Strategic Grants for Outstanding Women

Congratulations to Associate Professor Lisa Hui who was awarded the 2021 Strategic Grants for Outstanding Women

Associate Professor Lisa Hui, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, is maternal fetal medicine specialist at the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Northern Hospital. She is a team leader in the Reproductive Epidemiology group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and holds a Medical Research Futures Fund clinical investigator fellowship. She is co-founder of the Northern Centre for Health Education and Research (NCHER) Reproductive Health Biobank and research lead for the Division of Women’s and Children’s Health at Northern Health.

The NCHER Reproductive Health Biobank collects maternal blood, placental tissue and umbilical cord blood for translational research at the Melbourne Medical School Northern Precinct Research Laboratory. These samples are available to Melbourne Academic Centre for Health (MACH) collaborators for research into perinatal medicine and women’s health. She will use the SGOW grant to employ a research assistant to support her rapidly growing Northern Precinct research group.
