Endometriosis Awareness Month

""

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month (EndoMarch).  To help spread awareness of the condition, educate the hospital staff and translate the research being undertaken in the Department, members of the Gynaecology Research Centre hosted a morning tea on March 21, 2017 at the Royal Women’s Hospital.

Some important messages spread during EndoMarch include:

  1. 1 in 10 women suffer from endometriosis
  2. Endometriosis often starts in teenagers
  3. Symptoms are variable and can lead to a diagnostic delay of 7-10 years

Yellow is the colour for EndoMarch and this theme was incorporated brilliantly by Gynaecology Research Centre team members not only in the food prepared but also in the decorations, information sheets and their wardrobe!
