Level C Promotions

Congratulations to The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology researchers Roxanne Hastie, Jacqueline Donoghue and Gerald Murray who were all successfully promoted to Level C recently.

Dr Roxanne Hastie is a NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellow and research scientist dual skilled in complex laboratory and epidemiology research, in the Translational Obstetrics Group in The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. Roxanne’s research aims to reduce the burden of major pregnancy complications and spans from improving the treatment of mental health during pregnancy to investigating new medications for preeclampsia.

Dr Jacqueline Donoghue is a Senior Research Fellow in the University of Melbourne’s Gynaecology Research Centre (GRC) at the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne.  Her research focus is the identification of new therapeutic targets for the treatment of endometriosis.  After completing her PhD in 2009, Jacqui gained experience in therapeutic screening and development in models of brain cancer and has transferred this valuable knowledge to her work in endometriosis.  Jacqui joined the GRC in 2016 and has led the way in developing compound and molecular high throughput screens for endometriosis therapeutic discovery.  Jacqui has also used her skills in developmental biology to develop a novel CRISPR model to study endometriosis in vivo.  Jacqui is a Chief Investigator on a five-year MRFF priorities driven research grant for Improving Endometriosis diagnosis and treatment as part of the National Action Plan for Endometriosis, established in 2018.  Jacqui will be working closely with clinicians and clinical trial study participants in several multicentre clinical trials to evaluate new treatment opportunities and diagnostic screening tools.

Dr Gerald Murray is a Senior Research Scientist, Microbiologist in the Molecular Microbiology and Reproductive Health Research Group
