Sarah Marcola awarded National AAA Title

We are thrilled to congratulate one of our professional staff, Sarah Marcola who won the NATIONAL TITLE in the strategic category of the Australian Administration Awards in Sydney on Monday 2^nd May 2022.

This is a huge honor, and so well deserved.

Sarah is the Executive Assistant of HoD Prof Sue Walker, Administration and MD Programs Officer for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has recently taken on a Project Officer role with Mercy Health for Mercy Perinatal having completed her MBA last year. In her University of Melbourne, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology roles, Sarah has made innovative and strategic changes to improve the overall functioning of the department, enhancing the MD Student experience through streamlined timetabling, video orientation, the MOGCAST and summer elective program- all critical initiatives during the COVID19 outbreak. Sarah has initiated and grown a network of administrative staff across the Faculty, which has successfully provided a community of practice for professional staff, providing a forum to advance their professional development and amplify their voices.

She is kind, generous, thoughtful, wise, respectful, dedicated and an outstanding team player. Sue Walker said, “It is not often that someone of her capability, emotional intelligence, maturity and growth mindset comes across your professional life”.
