Congratulations to Natalie Hannan who has been selected to participate in the Veski Leading the Way: Mid-Career emerging leaders program.

The Leading the Way: Mid-career emerging leaders program is designed to support women wanting to progress or extend into leadership positions within a STEM industry. The program will help develop networks across Universities, Research Centres, Industry and Government with the aim to equip participants with the skills, networks and mindset to identify and achieve their chose career goals, addressing the retention of women into leadership roles within STEM industries.

Dr Natalie Hannan, PhD, is a NHMRC CDF1 Fellow in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She leads the dynamic Therapeutics Discovery Group, part of the Translational Obstetrics Group. Her team are dedicated toward the development of novel therapies for serious pregnancy complications. Natalie was competitively chosen to participate in this exciting initiative based on her outstanding research output and inspiring profile.

Natalie is the current president of the Australian New Zealand Placental Research Association. In 2015 she was awarded a highly competitive Veski Inspiring Women Fellowship and in 2010 a Young Tall Poppy Award. She is a passionate science communicator and a staunch ambassador for Women in STEM.

Natalie will no doubt bring back important knowledge and skills from this important program; to lead and pass on to the women she mentors in the Department and beyond.
