2023 Henry & Rachel Ackman Travelling Scholarships – 1st Round awards

Congratulations to Dr Melvin Marzan, Teck-Phui Chua & Sherine Sandhu who were awarded funding in the recent 2023 Henry & Rachel Ackman Travelling Scholarships – 1st Round award.
These research travel awards are eligible to early career researchers and graduate research students from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to support overseas research travel, including conference travel, research training, and study tours at prominent overseas institutions and other international research career development opportunities.
Dr Melvin Marzan will be supported to attend the Erasmus Summer program in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The program is offered by the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences and offers courses in advanced biostatistics and epidemiological modelling; as well as a course in Bayesian Modelling for Clinical research.
Tech-Phui Chua will be supported to present an oral at the STI & HIV 2023 World Congress in Chicago, USA
Sherine Sandhu will be supported to present an oral at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Annual meeting which was held in Copenhagen Denmark.
We congratulate each of the awardees and look forward to attending The Minnie Ackman Lectures and learning about their overseas activities and outcomes.
Round 2 of the Scholarships for 2023 will open end of August and priority will be given to applicants who have relatively firm travel arrangements in place and who are giving a conference presentation or attending a course.
