Dr Elif Kadife is an Innovation Seed Grant recipient 2025 for their project 'From Petri Dish to Pregnancy: A Breakthrough in IVF Additives'.

The project aims to improve IVF implantation and live birth rates by developing a first-in-class embryo culture additive that activates a pathway critical for trophectoderm and placental development. With fewer than one in three IVF cycles leading to a live birth, targeting this unique developmental pathway represents an exciting and untapped opportunity to enhance embryo health from the earliest stages. The team will optimise pathway modulation in preclinical embryo models, generate essential safety and efficacy data, and define a pathway toward clinical translation and commercialisation. This work will address a major unmet need in reproductive medicine.
