Parkville Precinct Student Awards 2024

We congratulate Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Health current and former students Rose Freemantle, Poppy Downing and Tegan Backx who all received awards at the Parkville Precinct Student Awards which were held on the 24^th May in the Kenneth Myer Auditorium.

Former Honours student now current GR student Rose Freemantle was awarded the Department Honours Awards - Class of 2023 for their project Purinergic signalling in the placenta: potential to inform the development of major placental dysfunction.

Current Honours student Tegan Backx was awarded the MDHS Faculty Scholarships 2024- Frances Elizabeth Thomson Trust Scholarship for their ongoing Honours work titled Examining the impact of novel chemotherapy agents on the growth of mouse and human follicles together with a leukemic cell line in a 3D scaffold

Former Masters student - now Clinical Study Coordinator Poppy Downing was awarded the Master of BioMedical Science Best Research Project 2023 for the project Investigating factors that regulate human endometrial epithelial cell receptivity to improve successful embryo implantation.
