2022 MMT Research Fund

Congratulations to Dr Jess Heerde and colleagues who have been awarded a 2022 Manchester-Melbourne-Toronto (MMT) Research Fund grant.

The aim of the MMT Research Fund is to encourage and provide initial support for the development of high-quality research activities and bilateral or trilateral research projects, drawing on joint expertise and resources.

Dr Jess Heerde is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Paediatrics. She has established and leads a program of research that highlights both drivers of homelessness and the health consequences of homelessness in young people.

Co-led with Dr. Stephanie Begun from the University of Toronto this partnership grant provides an exciting opportunity for collaboration in examining global health disparities among young people experiencing homelessness, enhancing capacity for ongoing research and advocacy in this field.

We look forward to hearing more about the research Jess will undertake with the support of the grant funding.
