The members of ISSVA include the leading clinicians and researchers in vascular anomalies from around the world. As a society, ISSVA is overseeing quite extraordinary advances in our understanding and management of a wide range of  previously untreatable conditions.

Tony’s appointment is a testimony to the high standing of the clinical and research work taking place under his guidance at the University of Melbourne, RCH and MCRI.

After being elected, Tony gave his thanks to both ISSVA and staff at The Royal Children’s Hospital.

“Thank you for this acknowledgement,” Tony said.

“It is important that we recognise the many clinicians and scientists at the RCH who play leadership roles in international specialist societies. Not only does this reflect on the RCH as a world leading paediatric institution, it also helps keep the hospital at the forefront of the latest developments across the spectrum of child health around the world.

“This is a reflection of strength and expertise of the RCH Vascular Anomalies team which has been providing expert multidisciplinary care for children with haemangiomas and vascular malformations to the children of Victoria for the last 20 years.”

On behalf of the Department of Paediatrics, we congratulate Tony on his appointment.
