Thesis Title: Effectiveness of mass drug administration regimens for the control of scabies
Thesis Summary: This PhD evaluates dosing regimens of ivermectin for mass drug administration (MDA) for scabies. A systematic review and meta-analysis of the effectiveness of MDA for scabies is presented. A cluster-randomised trial was conducted to determine if ivermectin-based MDA with a single dose is as effective as two doses with a detailed analysis of the results. It includes epidemiologic analysis of scabies and associated risk factors and an assessment of the impact of scabies on quality of life.
