Scholarship for Women Graduates
Applications for the Vera Scantlebury Brown Child Welfare Memorial Trust Scholarship for 2017 are now being accepted.
A scholarship to support women undertaking research in child welfare, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, preschool teaching and social work, this scholarship commemorates the work of Dr Vera Scantlebury Brown, OBE Director of Maternal Welfare and Pre-School Welfare in Victoria. The value of the 2017 scholarship is $6000
The scholarship is open to women who are
- Maternal and Child Health Nurses with midwifery and infant welfare qualifications registered with the Victorian Nurses Board
- Pre-School Teachers with a university level Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) or equivalent three year degree in early childhood studies and an approved fourth year of study recognised by the Australian Early Childhood Association Qualification Approvals Committee
- Legally qualified Medical Practitioners registered in Victoria
- Women with suitable qualifications in the fields of Public Health, Social Welfare and Education
Applicants are not required to be current students but must commit to working in Victoria in their field of their research for a period of 12 months after receiving the award.
