Friday 28 August 2020 is Wear it Purple Day. Wear it Purple Day is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people. Supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community.

One of the simplest actions you might like to take to show your support is to download the Wear it Purple UoM Zoom background. Then you could set this as your background on the Friday or perhaps a day or two in the leadup. Many staff and students from our Department have supported this day in previous years when we’ve dressed up and headed down to the HELP Lounge for a small celebration – Thank you again and hopefully we’ll be able to dust off our coloured beads next year for an in-person celebration.
