Dementia Awareness Month 2016

September is Dementia Awareness Month, an initiative of Alzheimer's Australia which aims to give Australians a better understanding of what it is like for a person to live with dementia. It also highlights the importance of early access to services and information for people impacted by dementia.

The Victorian branch of Alzheimer's Australia is hosting a number of events and activities across Victoria throughout the month.

In particular, this year's annual Dementia Awareness Month Public Lecture will be delivered by international dementia expert Dr Ron Peterson (USA), Director of the Mayo Clinic. Dr Peterson will be sharing his insights and research findings on mild cognitive impairment and dementia.

For more information on Dementia Awareness Month, or to register for Dr Peterson's lecture, please visit the Alzheimer's Australia (VIC) website.
