Parkville Precinct Student Awards
The Parkville Precinct Student Awards were held on Wednesday, 1 May at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Function Centre.
The annual event recognises the outstanding achievements of current and former Honours, Master of Biomedical Science, and RhD students from the Departments of Medicine and Radiology (RMH), Surgery (RMH), Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Clinical Pathology.
The Awards opened with a presentation by Dr Tamsyn Van Rheenen from the Department of Psychiatry.
The NHMRC Peter Doherty Biomedical Research Fellow talked about how she started her research career as a young PhD student and navigated the highs and lows of academia and everyday life.
She also shared some tips on creating opportunities for career advancement and personal development.
