Ultrasound Education Group Have Success during RMH Research Week

Three members of the Ultrasound group were awarded prizes for best oral presentations during the Royal Melbourne Hospital Research Week.

Firstly, William Hoang (pictured above, centre), our medical student, won the medical student oral prize for his presentation:

"Ultrasound measurement of sternal micro motion: Prospective randomised controlled trial of sternal wires versus sternal plate with band fixation in cardiac surgery"

Secondly, David Canty won the oral prize for his education related research:

“Comparison of learning outcomes for teaching focused cardiac ultrasound to physicians: a supervised human model course versus aneLearning guided self-directed simulator course.”

And finally, Alistair Royse won the oral prize for his presentation

“The effect on survival from the use of saphenous vein graft during coronary bypass surgery: a large cohort study in 51,113 patients”


Due to commitments overseas, Alistair’s presentation was kindly delivered by Colin Royse in his absence.
