In a new paper published in Human Reproduction in December 2024, "strong predictive accuracy" was demonstrated for the diagnosis of endometriosis through a blood test. The research, developed by Perth-based medical technology company Proteomics International in collaboration with the Royal Women's Hospital and the University of Melbourne, analysed plasma samples from 805 participants across two independent groups.
The findings of the study have garnered significant attention from various media outlets, including the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Channel 7, Sky News, and the ABC Radio.
