Teaching in the Melbourne Global Centre
Professor George Braitberg AM, Marion Orchison and Associate Professor Jonathan Knott from the Department of Critical Care travelled to Delhi in late July to deliver a series of workshops on Disaster Medicine.

The program, adapted from workshops delivered in the Graduate Diploma of Disaster Medicine and Terror Health, was well received by a large local cohort. Several participants expressed interest in future collaboration in this area.
Shortly after the visit, India was hit by severe flooding and wildfires, which were both areas of focus in the workshops. The simulations included disaster triage following a major bus crash, responses to a terrorist chemical attack by drone, and the emergency department, public health and national laboratory response to an Ebola outbreak.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to establish a network with interested colleagues from across India. The initiative was made possible thanks to funding from the Chancellery and support from staff at the Melbourne Global Centre.
