Melbourne Clinical And Translational Sciences (MCATS)

At MCATS we believe investment in the expertise in the core areas of biostatistics, heath economics and health informatics, and data management and governance is vital to the growth in research capability. Initial activities that MCATS is investing in include -

  • biostatistics planning for grant applications
  • health economics planning for grant applications
  • clinical trial support in health economics, biostatistics and data management
  • a range of biostatistics and health economics  training and educational workshops
  • access and technical support for the University supported eHealth technology platforms: RedCAP (web-based research data collection), GRHANITE(privacy-protection data extraction and linkage tool) at Biogrid  (data warehouse or research repository).
  • linking like-minded researchers to promote and /or strengthen research projects
  • providing limited seed-funding support for MCATS related services
  • a partnership with Murdoch Childrens Research Institute  to develop on site GCP training for University affiliated organisations
  • a 'Go Live'  MCATS resource portal http://clinicalresearch.mdhs.unimelb.edu.au/
