Professor Choong​ received the award for being the highest ranked applicant in the NHMRC’s Practitioner Fellowship scheme for 2018.

Practitioner Fellowships are awarded to support research that results in the translation of evidence into improved clinical practice and health policy, delivering improvements in health and healthcare to Australians.
