Portrait Tradition Continues

The Department of Medicine, Royal Mebourne Hospital (RMH), recently celebrated the achievements of the former Head of Department, James Stewart Chair, Professor Terry O’Brien by the unveiling of his portrait by his predecessor Professor Graham Brown, the current Interim Head of Department, Professor Stephen Rogerson, and the newly appointed Head of Department and James Stewart Chair – Professor Jo Douglass.

The prestigious James Stewart Chair of Medicine has been held by Professor Richard Lovell AO (dec) (inaugural 1955-1983) Professor Richard Larkins AO (1984-1997), Professor Graham Brown AM (1999-2008), Professor Terence O’Brien (2008-2018) and Professor Jo Douglass (2020-)

The event took place in the newly refurbished and renamed Richard Lovell Common Room on Level 4, Clinical Sciences Building with the inaugural James Stewart Chair, Professor Lovell’s portrait in the background.
