Associate Professor Anna Ryan awarded ANZAHPE Fellowship

Associate Professor Anna Ryan, Director of Assessment in the Department of Medical Education, was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professions Education

Associate Professor Anna Ryan, Director of Assessment in the Department of Medical Education, was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professions Education (ANZAHPE). The Fellowship recognises members of ANZAHPE who have demonstrated a consistent commitment to excellence in health professional education through scholarly contributions to the field. It also provides a formal pathway for Fellows to mentor junior colleagues.

Anna is an exemplary teacher, researcher and leader in health professions education. Not only has her work in assessment and feedback had a significant impact on the international field of Health Professions Education, her contribution to the ANZAHPE Community has been outstanding over a sustained period. Anna leads innovative approaches to assessment in the MD program, and teachers about assessment in the clinical education postgraduate courses in Health Professions Education. Anna also leads an outstanding program of research in assessment for learning- as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in the field. Anna’s scholarly work in assessment is recognised by her international visits and invited presentations to Canada (CHES, UBC), and the United States of America (Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences) and internationally funded research collaborations investigating cumulative assessment, and assessment for learning.
