Associate Professor Piero Perucca, has been selected as an Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences mentee

Associate Professor Piero Perucca, Department of Medicine, has been selected as an Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences mentee. As a mentee, Piero becomes an Associate Member of the Academy for the next three years, where he will receive support to promote his work. In turn, he is required to contribute to some Academy activities, while being mentored by a more senior Fellow. Read more about new AAHMS mentees in this web story on the AAHMS website.

Also, the Jian Zhou Medal recognises translational research stars who are within 15 years of achieving their PhD – nominations close 30 April.

Associate Professor Perucca has also be been selected for the 2022 Dreifuss-Penry Epilepsy Award by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

This is a prestigious award established in 2001 recognising “physicians in the early stages of their careers who have made an independent contribution to epilepsy research”.
