Melbourne to Mooroopna, audiology student's rural placement experience
A cohort of audiology students from the University of Melbourne embarked on a journey from Melbourne to participate in a rewarding placement program at three primary schools located in Mooroopna, situated in North East Victoria. These placements are an integral part of the Department of Rural Health's Service Learning Placements program, designed to cater to communities in need, including Mooroopna.

Over the course of four days, the dedicated team of eight students conducted 52 hearing screenings for the school children. Rick, one of the audiology students, shared the profound impact the placement had on him, expressing, “the kids really touched my heart…it really challenged me with what I want to do with my life.”
