Professor Julie Bernhardt delivers a Lecture of Excellence

Professor Julie Bernhardt AM FAHMS from the Florey Department of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

Professor Bernhardt’s lecture, titled Rock the boat, find your crew, navigate storms and enjoy the journey, centred on key messages for the next generation of stroke researchers.

She emphasised the importance of being brave, finding gaps, understanding your values, building powerful and effective teams and interdisciplinary and international collaborations, and managing your energy through work-life balance.

Professor Bernhardt was met with a standing ovation from a crowd of over 500 attendees. She has also established a new standard in wearable science, inspiring young researchers to aim higher in the years ahead. Her impact on the field of stroke science is poised to resonate for many years to come.
